Richard L. “Ricky” Carter

Richard L. Carter, 57, of Inwood, WV, lost his battle to pancreatic cancer and went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2012 at his home.

He was born May 10, 1954 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Landon Ambers of Winchester, VA and the late Joyce Carter Ambers. He was a member of the Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church in Winchester, VA. He was an employee of Potomac Edison, currently Rappahannock Electric Cooperative for the past 38 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancé, Mary Meade of Omaha, Ne; a brother, Brian and Susan Carter of Stephens City, VA; five children, Michael and wife Faith Carter of Mebane, NC, Roseanne Evan of Greensboro, N.C.; Robert and Elsie Carter of Winchester, VA, Derek Carter of Inwood. WV. And Keiana Carter of Stephens City, VA; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 14, 2012 at Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church in Winchester, VA with Pastor Eric Farel.

Visitation will be Friday January 13, 2012 from 1:00 to 3:00pm and family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, VA.

Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA.
