Adele Louise Nelson Robinson
Adele Louise Nelson Robinson died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Envoy Nursing Home. She was 75 years old, and a life-long resident of Winchester, VA and Opequon and/or Frederick County, VA.
Adele, a sweet unselfish soul, was born on February 19, 1939, to the late Hunter Nelson and Jenitee Robinson Nelson. She spent her early years growing up in Opequon, VA, and received her education at Douglas High School. She worked at National Fruit for nearly 30 years. She also worked at the Winchester Country Club for many years, where her skillful cooking was instrumental to the success of several catered events. One of her favorite pastimes was reading. In her lifetime, Adele read thousands of novels and had a rather extensive collection of them. She was a humble, caring, and giving woman.
She is survived by two (2) siblings, Robert Carol Nelson Sr. and Margaret Marie Jones, both of Winchester, VA; two (2) nieces, Monica Nelson Holmes of Martinsburg, WV, and Candace Tiana Nelson of Washington, DC; five (5) nephews, James Carlton Nelson and Robert Carol Nelson Jr., both of Winchester, VA., Jesse James Nelson of Seattle, WA, Jacob Nelson of Tampa, FL, and Ezekiel Nelson of Lexington, KY; four (4) great-nieces, a grandnephew, and a host of other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Adele was preceded in death by two (2) sisters, Shirley Nelson Lucas and Iona Mae Robinson; a brother, James Hunter "Mickey" Nelson; and a sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Delores Nelson.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, a viewing is scheduled to be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 232 East Fairfax Lane, Winchester, VA, 22601. The funeral is scheduled to be held at the same location immediately following the viewing, starting at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA
