Albert Franklin Martin, Jr.
Albert F. Martin, Jr., 83, of Winchester, Virginia died December 7, 2008 at Ruxton Health of Winchester in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Martin was born March 22, 1925 in Winchester, Virginia the son of the late Albert F. Martin, Sr. and Blanche Long Martin. He was a retired auto body tech. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Winchester, Virginia where he was a Trustee, Sr. Choir member, Improvement Committee, Men's choir and a member of the Historical Preservation Committees. He also was the Past Worshipful Master of the King Hiram Lodge #53. He was a United States Navy Veteran.
He was married to Mary Thomas Martin who preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish him memory two daughters, Cynthia Banks of Winchester, Virginia and Sharon Parker of N. Charleston, SC; two sons, John Martin, Sr. and Albert Martin III both of Winchester, three sisters, Gladys Peyton, Beulah Martin, and Lavinia Campbell all of Winchester, Virginia; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
One sister, Ramona Tennant and two brothers, Warren Long and Jasper Long all preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be 12:00 pm Thursday December 11, 2008 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Rev. Kevin E. Wilson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Albert F. Martin, IV, William C. Banks, Jr., Vernon O. Banks, John W. Martin, Jr., Justin C. Martin, and Shaun Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Theodore Yates and William Buckner.
Family will receive friends 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday December 11, 2008 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Winchester, Virginia.
Friends may call Wednesday December 10, 2008 from 1:00 pm to 4:00pm at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia
Burial will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
