Barbara Ann Burns Carpenter
Barbara A. Carpenter, 64 of Summit Point, WV, died Tuesday February 25, 3014 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.
Mrs. Carpenter was born September 15, 1949 in Franklintown, WV the daughter of the late James B. Burns and Martha Burns Lockley of Summit Point, WV. She was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church in Franklintown, WV. She worked for Mr. McKee, Dr. Iden, Mrs. Betty Casey and the Winchester Medical Center for 25 years.
She was married to James Williams Carpenter of Boyce, VA.
Surviving with her husband and mother are her sons, Edwards D. Burns and James Dwhite Burns of Summit Point, WV and a daughter, Melissa Gonzalez of Charlestown, WV.; five sisters; Mary Thomas of New Castle, Delaware, Edna Smith, Martha Burns, Doris Burns all of Summit Point, WV., and Toni Payton of Rippon, WV; and 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a great deal of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother James B. Burns, Jr.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
