Chanda Marie Shields

Chanda Marie Shields, 44, of Winchester, VA went home to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 18, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Chanda was born November 15, 1972 in Winchester to Rhonda Fletcher Gomez and Phillip R. Shields (Sharon). Chanda, a cherished soul, was an avid lover of learning and reading throughout her life. She was employed by FEMA in Winchester, VA.

She is survived by her two children whom she adored, Malcolm Christopher Shields and Jacinda Kate Shields; and her beloved granddaughter Ariah Michele King. She is also survived by her grandmother Alice E. Fletcher and grandfather John E. Shields III; two sisters Renee D. Trent (Harvey) of Cumberland, VA and Amy L. Banks (Marcel) of Stephens City, VA; her brother Phillip R. Shields II (Krissie) of Winchester, VA; and a half-sister Le'Tina Giles of Farmville, VA; three nieces, five nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mary Margaret Shields, and maternal grandfather, Robert William Fletcher.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Thursday February 23, 2017 4PM at Abundant Life Church located at 700 Aylor Road, Stephens City, VA 22655 with Pastor John Miller officiating.
