Charles A. Carey, Sr.
Charles A. Carey, Sr., 73, of Berryville, Virginia, died Wednesday November 28, 2007 at his home.
He was born January 7, 1934 in Winchester, Virginia the son of the late Abner Carey and Isabella Hostine Carey. He was a marine veteran. He was also a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boyce, Virginia, where he served as a Deacon.
He was married to Irma Jackson Carey for 54 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife of Berryville, Virginia two daughters; Pamela W. Carey of Berryville, Virginia and Paula W. Yates of White Post, Virginia; three sons; Charles A. Carey, Jr. of Ashburn, VA, Todd O. Carey of Mechanicsville, VA, and Tedd O. Carey of Short Gap, WV; three brothers, Rev. Abner Carey Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD, Bushrod Carey and Rudolph Carey both of Boyce, VA; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joey D. Carey, and three sisters, Sueatta Jordan, Mary Brooks, and Rosanna Sloane.
A Celebration of life will be Monday December 3, 2007 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boyce, Virginia with Rev. John E. Green and Pastor Todd O. Carey officiating.
Friends may call Sunday 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Cartwright Funeral Home and the family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home
Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Friends of the family.
Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery in Franklin town, WV.
