Clauzell was born July 23, 1943, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi to the late Mr. Jesse Thigpen and Mrs. Inez Wilson-Thigpen. Eight children were born into that union. A brother, Kevin Thigpen preceded him in death. He grew up in a pleasant country atmosphere and was a serious but happy child. Although very young, he attended church regularly.

At the age of 7 years, Clauzell joined the St. Mary's United Methodist Church and and later joined the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

In 1962 Clauzell enlisted in the United States Air Force and after 22 years he retired as a Senior Master Sergant with numberous awards and decorations.

Clauzell was a entrepreneur and after retiring fromm the Air Force he established two successful transporation companies. After visiting several churches in the Front Royal area, Clauzell joined the Williams Chapel CME Church and became very active in all Church's event and programs.
