IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Copeland Beechem,
Jr.
October 17, 1924 – October 7, 2023
COPELAND BEECHEM, JR.
Copeland Beechem, Jr.
Born: October 17, 1924
Transition: October 7, 2023
Copeland Beechem was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 17,1924 to Copeland Beechem, Sr., and Ethel Beechem.
He moved to California with his parents when he was a young man, where he lived for over 50 years with his Sister Viola H. Brown. When his sister passed in 2005, he came to live with his nephew Raymond G. Joseph and his wife Faye Helen Joseph in Apple Valley, California. While in Apple Valley, the family attended Victory in Jesus Bible & Faith Center during the pastoral leadership of Pastor's W. & Denotra Johnson & Pastor Joseph D. Valery, Sr., where Copeland was appreciated because of his enthusiasm for Christ. During that time his nephew Raymond went to be with the Lord and Copeland moved to Winchester, Virginia in 2010 with Faye who continued to be his caregiver, and his great nieces Jennifer Joseph & Quimera Carter. Copeland attended Impact Christian Church founded by Mark David & Kimberly Kennerly (his great nephew & niece), where, whether a member or first-time visitor, everyone left having experienced the love, joy and passion Copeland had for Jesus!!!
Copeland was a cherished participant at his beloved Adult Care Center (aka, his "Job") where his family would drop him off daily to socialize, make friends, do his artwork, have fun, learn new things, and do what he loved the most, talk about Jesus.
Copeland was preceded in death by all his brothers and sisters: Milton Beechem, Carey Beechem, Viola H. Brown, Mary Morgan, Joseph Beechem, and Gloria Sears. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him.
Copeland's zest for the Lord was the driving force of his life! He enjoyed singing, dancing, gospel music, hymns, and always looked for opportunities to share God's joy with everyone he met! The Joy of the Lord truly was his strength! He will be missed!!!
