IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Webster
Bowser
May 29, 1947 – January 15, 2020
Elder Daniel W. Bowser Jr.
Our beloved husband, father, uncle, cousin, prayer warrior, walking buddy and friend went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at the age of 72 years. He was born May 29, 1947, in Edenton, North Carolina, son of the late Daniel Bowser and Essie Mae Bowser (Harris). The Bowser family moved to New York City between 1952 and 1954. Daniel would talk about how he lived in all five boroughs of New York. Daniel turned his life over to the Lord as a teenager. He would always talk about, "how that little red truck with the church lady came to his house and slew him on the floor of his mother's kitchen and how he stayed on the floor all night and rising with the Holy Ghost the following morning."
In 1970, Daniel married Beverly in Bronx NY. From this union two children were born, Samuel and Andria Bowser. Daniel served faithfully under his mother-in-law and Pastor, the late Bishop Delores R. Jordan of Zion Temple Church of Deliverance in NY. He talked about, "how he would drive his Pastor to her speaking engagements and how his Pastor would put him on the spot to sing or to preach at a moment's notice. She would always paraphrase the scripture, "Be ye always ready."
Daniel worked for The Coast Guard as a Vessel Documentation Specialist. He lived and worked in NY until 1995, when his job relocated to Spring Mills, WV. When the Bowser's arrived in Winchester, VA, Daniel was pushing his wife's ministry and helping as needed; even when it meant being left alone while his wife was ministering and doing God's work in different states. Daniel retired from the Coast Guard in 2000. Daniel loved and cared for his wife until she went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2013.
When Daniel and Beverly came to Winchester, VA, they were in search of a Holy Ghost filled deliverance church and they found this at Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Bunker Hill, WV under the tutelage of the late Pastor Peter S. Thomas Sr. Daniel joined the church prior to his wife's passing and became the Assistant Pastor under Pastor Thomas.
After the death of his wife, he stayed busy and on the go. He was on a prayer conference call for a year. He also started going to an online Biblical School, but the head of the school passed and the school dissolved. Daniel did not let this deter him. He found the Faith Bible Institute and continued his studies. He was to graduate from this Institute this year. Daniel was serious about his Salvation and walk with God, and making it through one of those gates of Heaven.
Daniel loved the Lord with all his heart. He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories a loving son Samuel (Cheryl) Bowser of Long Island, NY; a loving daughter Andria Bowser of Winchester, VA; a brother Eddie Bowser of Edenton, NC and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Daniel is predeceased by his parents Daniel and Essie Mae Bowser, sisters Louise White, Phyllis Bowser-Nelson, Jaqueline Bowser, and brothers George Harris, and Bennie Bowser.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, January 27, 2020 at 11:00 am at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA. with Pastor micheal Brandon, Sr.. officiating
Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, VA.
