David Scott Ashby, Sr.

David Scott Ashby, 50, of Winchester VA departed this life Tuesday, February 13th at Winchester Medical Center. David was born February 25th, 1973, in Winchester, VA to Kathy L. Long (Ashby) and Wesley "Tinker" M. Thompson Jr.

In addition to his mother Kathy, David is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tracey Ashby; daughter, Courtney Ashby; son, David Ashby Jr; a grandson Ezra Ashby-Rodriguez; brother, Darius Thompson; two sisters Kelly Long and Wacovia Thompson Brown; aunts Trudy Ashby, Charlotte Washington (Paul), and Barbara Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David was a proud Senior vendor management support specialist at Cox Communications for 25 years.

David is preceded in death by his father, Wesley Thompson; aunt Kimrita Ashby; Uncles, Kenny, Terry, and Tony Ashby; and Grandfather's Mose Ashby and Wesley Thompson Sr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at Mount Carmel Baptist Church on February 19th, 2024.

The viewing will be at 11:00am and service to follow at 12:00pm at the church with Rev Kevin E. Wilson officiation.

Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester.
