Deacon Wilbur Albert Townley
Deacon Wilbur A. Townley, 83, of Front Royal, VA, passed away Saturday June 25, 2011 at his home in Front Royal, VA.
He was born December 31, 1927 in Front Royal, VA, the son of the late James Eston Townley and Elizabeth Proctor Townley. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Front Royal, VA served as Deacon, Pres. of Senior Choir and member of the Trustee Board.
He was married to Dorothy Grayson Townley of Front Royal, VA for 62 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife a son, Rev. W. Nathaniel Townley of Front Royal, ; three daughters, Patrice Townley Booker of LA, Anita Townley Kellan of Martinsville, VA and Dodie Townley Adams of Front Royal, VA; three sisters, Zella Townley Drummond of East Orange, NJ, Rosetta Townley Bennett of Washington DC, and Flora Townley Poles of Hume, VA; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Two sisters, Susan Reams and Alberta Banks; three brothers, James Townley, Joseph Aron Townley, and Robert Townley all preceded him in death.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 2, 2011 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Alfred Woods officating.
Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.
Interment will be at Good Hope Cemetery in Front Royal.
