Derek Owens Peterson

Derek O. Peterson, 62, of Winchester, Virginia, was called home on Saturday August 6th, 2016 at the Blue Ridge Hospice Center in Winchester, Virginia.

He was born August 9th, 1953 in Miami, Florida the son of Charles Peterson and Barbara Owens. His childhood years were spent in Georgia and Florida, soon after he and his mother moved to Winchester, Virginia. During his adult years, Derek was a devoted employee with Cracker Barrel for more than twenty five years where he had many loving and devoted customers.

Derek was a devoted son to his mother. He had many loving, devoted and caring friends in Winchester.

His smile and laughter will be missed by his brothers; Bernard Peterson (Evelyn) and Charles Petersons (Wihelmina); aunt, Cortel Owens; cousin/sister, Cassandra Owens Johnson; cousin, Arthur Swint II; devoted friend Carol Larsen; his Cracker Barrel family and a host of living relatives and friends.
Derek you will be missed.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 13th 2016 at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia, with Minister Mike Morrison officiating.

Inurnment will be at Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia
