Edgar Browning Ausberry, Sr.
Edgar B. Ausberry, Sr., 85, of Strasburg, Virginia died Friday October 20, 2006 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Ausberry was born September 15, 1921 in Flint Hill, Virginia the son of the late Frank Ausberry and Sarah Jordan Ausberry. He retired from Avtex Corporation. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill, Virginia. He moved his membership to Esbie Baptist Church in Strasburg, Virginia and later he moved his membership to Shiloh Baptist Church in Millwood, Virginia. He was a member of the NAACP in Warrenton County Branch and the American Legion Post #141.
He was married to Mary Magdalene Mitchell Ausberry of Strasburg, VA for 58 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife, two daughters, Brenda Louise Ausberry of Ashburn, Virginia and Doris Jean Jones (Bernard Jones) of Springfield; four sons, Edgar Browning Ausberry, Jr.(Sandra J. Ausberry) of Glen Allen, VA., Stanley Norris Ausberry (Anita Ausberry) of Winchester, Virginia, Arthur Wayne Ausberry of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Rev. Marshal Lee Ausberry (Robyn D. Ausberry) of Chesapeake, Virginia; one sister, Catherine Kilby of Front Royal, Virginia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.; an a host of nephews, nieces , other relatives and friends.
One sister, Mary Jordan and five brothers, John Allsberry, Jordan Alsberry, James Alsberry, Raymond Alsberry, and Rev. Carter Alsberry, Sr. all preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 am Wednesday October 25, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia with the Rev. Marshal Lee Ausberry officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday October 24, 2006 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home and the family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.
Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Winchester, Virginia. Military Honors will be accorded by the Winchester VFW Post # 2123.
Pallbearers will be family and friends
