Egerton Holness
Egerton Holness, 77, of Winchester, Virginia died Monday February 25, 2008 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Holness was born May 6, 1930 in St. Catherine, Jamaica the son of Charles Holness and Sylvia Johnson.
He was married to Roberta Corley Holness of Winchester, Virginia for 23 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife, six daughters; Ramona Corley of Winchester, VA, Yvonne Richard and Angela Smith both of Jamaica, Elaine Spence of Canada, Sharon Holness of New York, and Michelle Clark of England; six sons, Raymond Corley and Roger Corley both of Winchester, VA, Danny Holness of Stephens City, Virginia, Morris Holness of Pennsylvania, Ripton Holness and Alrick Holness both of Jamaica; two brothers, Wilford Brown of England and Lloyd Taylor of Jamaica; two sisters, Delzeta Greaves of England and Joyce Welch of Pennsylvania; 35 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
One brother Noel Taylor of Jamaica preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am Saturday March 1, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia. with the Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. and Rev. John G. Scott, Sr.
Family will receive friend Friday February 29, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the church.
Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery in Stephens City, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family
