Everett Childs "Tiger" Tanner, Sr.

On Friday August 23, 2019, Everett Childs Tanner (Tiger) relinquished his life on this earth to go to a higher plane.

Everett (Tiger) was born February 24, 1967 to Joyce Lasenberry and the late Edward W. Tanner Sr. He was the middle son of three.

He received his education within the Fauquier County, Price William County and the Prince Georges County public school systems.  He graduated from Lincoln Tech in Columbia, Md. as a licensed mechanic.

He was baptized November 13, 1975 by the late Rev. Norman W. Smith and became a member of Mt. Olive Bapt. Church, Rectortown, VA.  As a young man, he attended Sunday School, was a member of youth ministry, youth choir and boys' choir.  Later in life he decided to practice the Islamic faith.

Everett (Tiger), enjoyed watching sports, NASCAR, educational programs and documentaries. He loved to fish, tinker on cars, riding his motorcycle and Go Go music.  He had a talent for drawing and a unique penmanship. Tiger was always on the move, telling funny stories and being with family. Sometimes he talked so fast you couldn't keep up.

Tiger worked several occupations but found his passion for carpentry and woodwork and was employed by Walnut Ridge Construction in Winchester, VA. His last tribute to this life was being an organ donor.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Everett Jr. and Avery Tanner. Mother Joyce Lasenberry (John) of Millington Md, two brothers, Edward Tanner, Midland, VA and Samuel Tanner (Joy) of Washington, DC.  Two nieces and two nephews, four aunts, two uncles, and a host of relative and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be August 31, 2019 at 11:00 am at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, VA., with Bishop Oscar D. Grant, Jr., presiding.

Family will receive friends one hour before service at the funeral home.
