Franklin S. Day, Sr., 72, of Winchester, Virginia, formerly of Sandy Springs, MD, died Friday January 11, 2008 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Day was born June 6, 1935 in Washington DC the son of the late Justin Day and Odessa Scott Day. He was a retired Pathologist and Histologist at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. He was a former Elk member of the Daniel J. Farrar Lodge # 458 and a Masonic member of the King Hiram Lodge # 58. He was the owner of Day's Almost New and Collectibles in Winchester, Virginia.
He was married to Milbert Taper Day of Winchester, Virginia.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife; one son, Franklin Scott Day. Jr. of Beltsville, MD; two daughters, Dorothy Day Roache of Mitchellville, MD and Robin Day Owens of Winchester, Virginia; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am Wednesday January 16, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.
Family will receive friends Tuesday January 15, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the church.
Burial will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Day, Brian Roache, Jr., Richard Owens, Jr., Brach Roache, Bryson Roache, Devon Owens, and Michael Owens.
