Fred Clayton
Fred Clayton, 81, of Winchester, Virginia died Tuesday November 28, 2006 at Evergreen Health and Rehab in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Clayton was born July 15, 1925 in Tallahassee, Florida the son of the late Ross Clayton and Janie Standley Clayton. He was a member of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Winchester, Virginia. He was member of the Hound Dog Club.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his companion, Gertrude Smith of Winchester, Virginia, seven daughters; Alfreda Wright, Vickie Burks and Rev. Priscilla Clayton all of Newport News, Virginia, Sonya Clayton of Gary, Indiana, Betty Clayton Brown of Calumet, Illinois, Feranda Clayton Lawrence of Lakeland, Florida and Denetra Clayton of Highland City, Florida; four sons, Robert Clayton and Anthony Clayton both of New York, Frederick Clayton, Jr. of Hampton, Virginia, and Douglas Clayton of Bartow, Florida; four sisters, Marion Randolph of Florida, Barbara Jean Clayton of Dothan, Alabama, Bessie Clayton of Tallahassee, Florida and Dorthy Abrums of Honolulu , Hawaii; four brothers, Amos Clayton of Miami, Florida, Albert Clayton of Bartow, Florida, Anderson Clayton of St. Petersburg, Florida, Robert Clayton of Tallahassee, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, Jessie Clayton, David Clayton, Solomon Clayton and Ross Clayton, Jr., all preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be 11:00 am Saturday December 2, 2006 at Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia with the Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating.
