Garland "Jimmy" Turner Williams, Sr.
Garland Turner Williams, Sr., 74, of Stephens City, VA, passed away Wednesday July 27, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.
He was born December 21, 1936 in Stephens City, VA, the son of Clyde Williams and Ethel Turner Williams. He attended Orrick Chapel in Stephens City, VA. He was a member of the Hound Dog Club. He woorked for Bartley Shoe repair in Winchester for over 40 years.
He was married to Doris Reid Williams who preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Larry Cain of Middletown, VA, Garland T. Williams, JR. of Stephens City, VA, and Gerald Williams of Chambersburg, PA; a daughter, Rozland Williams Best of Winchester, VA; one sister, Barbara Gore of Chesapeake, VA; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Four brothers, Robert Williams, Raymond Williams, Clyde Williams and Lawrence Williams; one sister, Margaret Jackson all preceded him in death.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday August 1, 2011 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr.
Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday July 31, 2011 at the church.
Interment will be at Locust Grove Cemetery in Stephens City, Virginia.
