Gladys Martin Peyton
Gladys Martin Peyton, 90, of Winchester, VA, entered in eternal rest Monday March 5, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.
Mrs. Peyton was born September 29, 1921 in Winchester, VA., the daughter of late Albert F. Martin, Sr. and Blanche Long Martin. She was a member of St. Stephens C.M.E. Church. She served as President of the Missionary Board and Music Director for 13 years.
She was married to Charles Peyton who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister Beulah Martin of Winchester, VA; a niece, Cynithia E. Banks; five nephews, Cliff Campbell, Randolph N. Martin, Albert F. Martin III, John W. Martin, Sr. and Benjamin C. Martin all of Winchester, VA.
Three brothers, Warren J. Long, Jasper Long, and Albert F. Martin, Jr.; two sisters, Ramona Tennant and Lavenia Campbell all preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday March 9, 2012 at St. Stephens C.M.E. Church in Winchester, VA with Rev. Bryan Edwards and Rev Kevin Wilson officiating.
Family will receive friends Friday March 9, 2012 one hour before service at the church.
Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA.
