Gladys V. Smith
Gladys V. Smith, 76, of Winchester, Virginia died, Friday November 6, 2009 at the Evergreen Health and Rehab in Winchester, Virginia.
She was born April 11, 1933 in Clarke County the daughter of the late Milton Green and Bessie Johnson Green. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Winchester, Virginia where served on the Stewardess boardand the Senior choir.
She was married to Alfred Smith, Sr. who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Alfred Smith, Jr. of Winchester. Virginia; three daughters, Lorie Green of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Diane Turner of Riding, Virginia and Joyce Green of Philadelphia; three sisters, Kattie Sims and Yvonne Hill both of Front Royal, Virginia, and Bertha Montgomery of Uniontown, PA.; one brother Arthur Hill of Front Royal, Virginia; and two grandchildren.
One son, John Bradley and a grandchild preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be 12 p.m. Friday November 13, 2009 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Winchester with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia
