Harriett Alice "Hattie" Butler
Hattie A. Butler, 89, Winchester, VA., passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Blue Ridge Hospice Center in Winchester, VA.
She was born on December 11, 1924 in Winchester, VA., the daughter of the late Harry W. Green and Mary Frances Lockley Green. She was a member of John Mann United Methodist Church in Winchester, VA. She also was a member of and past Worthy Matron of the Apple Blossom Chapter, 196 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was married to Stanley Butler of Winchester, VA.
Surviving with her husband are four nieces, Harriett Anne (Cecil) Bolton of Washington, DC, Harvesta Green Williams of Sterling, VA, Sarah Catherine (Wayne) Springer of Winchester, VA, and Sandra Courtney (Wolfgang Litschgi) Williams of Steinen, Germany; a nephew, Harry Ellis (Este) Williams of Washington, D.C.; twelve great nieces and great nephews, eleven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and several cousins.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her sister, Mary Ann Green Williams.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 noon., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, VA with Rev Lorenzo Hill officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour before service at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, VA.
