IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hubert George
Terry
September 27, 1937 – May 11, 2020
Hubert George Terry
Hubert George Terry was born Monday, September 27, 1937. In Queens, NY to the Late Booker Terry and Lucy Bell Johnson. He received notice May 11, 2020 that his heavenly mansion was ready where God and his family welcome him. The Family Reunion is well under way!
In the early 1940s, his mother relocated the family to Upperville-Gainsville, VA. In the mid-1940s they moved to PA; first to Edgemont and then to Harrisburg. Early in life, Hubert learned that if you expect to succeed you have to work hard. He also understood the importance of maintaining a strong work ethic and the meaning of generosity. When growing up nothing was more important to him than helping his mother to financially make ends meet.
He received his education at Foose Elementary School (Kindergarten to Six Grade); Edison Junior High School (Seventh to Ninth Grade) and John Harris High School where he graduated. His peers name him Q-Ball because he was fierce at shooting pool and was enormously witty!
Hubert played a major role in bringing his mother to Christ. Even as a young man his eyes were on Jesus. Living in Harrisburg, PA., he heard the late Bishop Myles Meredith preach and was in awe. Hubert continued to attend the church services, and soon told his mother about his worship experience and convinced her to come and listen to Bishop Meredith.
Upon retirement, in 2012 he relocated to Union, NJ to live with his daughter and Al (spouse). It was a new beginning for them all. In no time at all, He immediately felt at home and eased into a beautiful and loving relationship with his family.
Hubert also renewed his spiritual bond with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As part of the renewed ritual, he look forward each day to his spending time with the family reading and studying the bible.
Hubert joins his loves ones who preceded him in death: Booker Terry (Father), Lucy Bell Johnson (Mother), Marva Howard, Myrn Parmerly, Anthony Terry (son), Earl Parmerly (son), Vera Battles (Daughter) ,Diane Parmerly (Daughter), five grandchildren, and Masha Williams (sister).
He leasves to morn; his children, Delores White, Sherie Wells, Samuel Parmerly, Cindy Gladden (Ramon), Larry Holmes (Lynette, Vicki Anderson (Albert), Sheree Shumps, Rhonda Terry, Danille Patterson, Pamela Parmerly, Special Terry, Hubert Garnet Terry, Candice Moore, Maxine Green Saxby, Kenya Horton Hayward (Malike), Michael Harrison (Emily), Christopher Aheart, Chadilyne Howard, and Kenneth Nash.
