Irma J. Carey, 82, of Berryville, Va., died September 21, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Carey was born July 12, 1936 in Winchester, Va., the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Jackson and Josephine Pinkett Jackson.

She retired in June of 2009, with 40 years of service as a bus driver for Clarke County Public Schools.

She was married to the late Charles Carey, Sr. who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters; Pamela Carey and Paula Yates both of Berryville, Va.; two sons Charles Carey, Jr. (Keri) of Ashburn, Va. and Tedd Carey of Berryville, Va.; six grandchildren and one-great grandchild; three sisters, Lucille Johnson of New Jersey, Susie Day of Winchester, Va., and Barbara Henderson (Felix) of Gresham, Or., and a brother Lloyd Jackson of Washington, DC.

Two sons, Todd Carey and Joey Carey preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 12 pm Sunday October 7, 2018 at Clarke County High School Auditorium in Berryville, Va., with Mr. David Jackson officiating.

Family will receive family and friends one hour before service at the school.

Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Franklintown, WV.
