James Garland "Cozmo" Carter, I James G. Carter, 55 of Strasburg, VA, died Thursday March 6, 2014 at VA Medical Center in Washington DC. He was born June 7, 1958 in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Jarvis Glinton and Mary Helena Carter. He was a member of 3rd Zion Baptist Church in Front Royal, VA. He also was a United State Army Veteran.

He was married to Donna Renzy Carter of Strasburg, VA.

Surviving with his wife is a son James Carter II of Strasburg, VA; a daughter Tara Turner of Stephens City, VA; a brother Bruce Lynell Carter of Hagerstown, MD; a grandson Taralle Hayden; and granddaughter, Miracle Turner both of Stephens City, VA.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 pm Friday, March 14, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA., with Rev. Theresa Bell officiating and Rev. Henry G. Hall bringing the eulogy.

Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.

Interment will be in 3rd Zion Baptist Church in Front Royal, VA. Military honors afforded by the Winchester VFW Post # 2123 and the United States Army at the church.
