James Levi "Pete" Crockett
On Friday, April 22, 2016, James Crockett, also known as Pete, departed this life after a long illness, but a brief stay in Martinsburg Veteran Hospital.
Pete, the 5th of five boys was born in Birmingham, AL., on May 22, 1922 to the late Hattie Horton and Clarence Crockett. He retired after spending twenty-three years in the U. S. Air Force and 15 years as an electrician at the Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
In October 1982 he married his wife of 33 years, Lorelie Adams. Residing in Philadelphia for over 20 years, they moved to Winchester, VA
Over 25 years ago Pete, joined Corinthian Baptist Church of Philadelphia and was baptized.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory with his wife, a daughter; Patricia Houston; three step-daughters, Clella J. Baker (Douglas), Kelly V. Baker and Laura A. Brown (Gregory); two nephews, a sister-in-law, two nieces, grand-children, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A son, James (Dan) Crockett; four brothers, Clarence, Johnnie, Dewitt and Lorraine and a sister, Minnie Love all preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday 27th 2016 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA with Dr. Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.
Military Honors will be afforded by the United States Air Force and
the Winchester VFW Post 2123.
Interment will be Thursday April 28th 2016 at 12:00 noon in Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, VA.
