James Malvin Reid

James Malvin Reid, Sr., 83, of Aldie, Virginia died Saturday April 18, 2009
at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.

Mr. Reid was born January 4, 1926 in Howardsville, the son of the late Matthew Reid and Nannie Bell Scott Reid. He was a member of the Austin Grove United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, VA. He was also a United States Navy veteran.

He was married to Josephine Elizabeth Turner Reid of Aldie, Virginia for 45 years.

He leave to cherish his memory with his wife; two daughters, Dorothy M. Robinson of Aldie, VA and Mabel Summers of Marshall, VA; one son, Richard L. Turner of Manassas, VA; four sisters, Julia Wilson of Leesburg, VA, Dorothy Tines of Marshall, VA, Gloria Wines of Temple Hills, MD, and Helen Lane of Hamilton, VA; two brothers, Welby Reid of Stephens City, VA, and Allen Reid of Merrifield, VA; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

One son, Joseph E. Turner; three sisters, Christine Reid, Grace Reid, and Garnet Reid; and two brothers, Reginald Reid and Wilbur Reid all preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday April 22, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Aldie, Virginia with Pastor Phillip C. Lewis
officiating.

Family will received friends one hour before service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Gary Lane, Larry Reid, Kenneth Reid, Theodore Dade, Jr., Albert Thomas, and Lamont Wines.

Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Reid Robert Ford, and Freddie Reid.

Interment will be at Westview Cemetery in Upperville, VA.
