John Gilbert "Bo" Flynn
John Gilbert "Bo" Flynn, 83, of Front Royal, VA, passed away on Monday August 31, 2015 at his home in Front Royal, VA.
Mr. Flynn was born on August 27, 1932 in Amissville, VA., to Gladys Wanser Flynn and Robert Flynn. He served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart. Bo was a member of the Williams Chapel CME Church in Frontal Royal, VA. He was an advocate for the Civil Rights and participated in many political functions in the community.
He is survived by his son Jerry Flynn, ex-wife and longtime friend, Ethel Smith; daughter Tanya Mair; granddaughter, Alicia Smith and great-granddaughter, Clerra Mair.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kim Flynn and Donald Flynn; and one brother Robert Flynn.
A Celebration of life Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday September 10th 2015 at Williams Chapel CME Church in Front Royal, VA., with Pastor Joyce Orr officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.
Interment will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Front Royal, VA., with Military Honors afforded by United States Army and the VFW #2123 of Winchester, VA
