John "Nobby" Carroll Gant, Jr.

John Carroll Gant, Jr. was born on February 22, 1948 to the late John F. Gant and Ellen Williams Gant in Middletown, VA. He died on April 28, 2020 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

Doing his young years, he attended both Middletown School and Stephens City one room schoolhouse.  As a young boy growing up, he liked fishing, swimming at Cedar Creek and playing checkers with his best friend.

Later in years Nobby moved to New Jersey with his parents.  He started a career as an electrician and worked with several contractors.

He moved back to Middletown in 2008 with his sister Ellen until his death.

He is survived by his three children; two sisters, Linda Gant of Maple Shade, N.J. and Ellen Gant of Middletown, VA.; many family members

and a life-long friend Roger Walker.

We cannot bring back the moment or the hour of splendor in the grass; glory in the flowers; but find strength in what remains.  May God bring you home and rest in peace.

A graveside inurnment will be 12:00 Saturday May 16, 2020 at Locust Grove Cemetery in Stephens City, VA., with Nelson Swoop officiating.

Friends and family will be requested to wear masks, as per CDC guidelines.
