John R. Morris, 58, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday December 20, 2007 at his home.

He was born November 23, 1949 in Clarke County, Virginia the son of the late James W. Morris, Sr. and Anna Marie Banks Morris. He was a member of the Club House in Winchester, Virginia

Surviving are a son, John Robert Newman of Woodstock, Virginia; three sisters, Mary L. Sloane of Berryville, Virginia, Kathleen Pope of St. Augustine, Florida and Debbie Reynolds of Winchester, Virginia; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Banks and James W. Morris, Jr.

A Celebration of life will be Friday December 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia with the Rev. Dr. Franklin Roberts officiating.

Family will receive friends Thursday 7:00 to 8:00 PM. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Mudd, Venson Walker, Walter Lowery, Clarence Dokes, James Blake and Joe Dokes

Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in White Post, Virginia
