Julian Kelly "Sonny" Berger, Jr.

Julian Kelly Berger, Jr., 80, peacefully passed away on Tuesday July 30, 2019 in Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

He was born on August 29, 1938 in Washington, DC., the son of the late Julian Berger and Ruby Johnson, who both preceded him in death, along with one sister Elaine Drayton who is deceased.

He was married to his beloved wife Charlotte "Gin" Corley Berger, who preceded him in death in June 2016.

Prior to moving to this area while in Washington, DC, he attended Cardoza High School.  He retired from O'Sullivan after 25 years of service upon which he pursued a part-time career in the Security field until his retirement in 2017.

Leisurely Julian enjoyed watching sports and was a long time Miami Dolphin fan.  He also liked Westerns and listening to his audio Bible.

Julian leaves behind his children, G. Annette Finley (Donald, Sr.), Kelly Hairston (Steve), Serena Davenport and Julian K. Berger III (Elizabeth) along with nine grandchildren; Donald Finley, Jr. (Shanna), Garth Williams II, Enos Davenport II, Britini Buchanan (Bryant), Rebecca Davenport, Sarah Davenport, Garrett Williams, Julian Berger IV and Isaiah Berger; and seven great-grandchildren, B.J. Buchanan, Nyasia Finley, Destiny Finley, Brayton Buchanan, Da'Niya Bell, Kayden Finley and Kayleigh Finley.

Other family members include brother-in-laws; Charles Corley (Patricia), Allen Corley (Frances), Walter Frye (Joan, deceased), Another brother-in-law the late Bobby Drayton, and sister-in-laws, Dorothy Ricketts, Roberta Holness and Elaine Spence.

As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday August 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA., with Rev. Dr. Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.

Inurnment will be private.
