Kim Ashby, 54, of Leesburg, VA died on Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 in Alexandria, VA after a long illness.


She was born March 14, 1961 in Kodiak, Alaska, the daughter of the late Linwood Ashby, Sr. and Ernestine Lee Ashby.


She was employed by the County of Fairfax, Virginia Family Services, Human Worker III in Leesburg, VA. She previously lived in San Luis Obispo, California, where she was a Student Advisor at California Polytechnic State University (Caly Poly), San Luis Obispo, in Student Affairs Profession: Executive Director of L.I.F.E. (non-profit children's program); Director of Human Resources Inn in Morro Bay, CA; and an Entrepreneur. Her mission in life was her love to help others. She was very successful person. She will be missed by many.


She was a faithful believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and was affiliated with many churches.

She leaves to cherish her memories one brother; Linwood Ashby Jr. of Winchester, VA and two sisters; Kathy Long of Winchester, VA and Trudy Jackson of Seattle, WA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves to mourn her special friends Anthony Saunders of Alexandria, VA and Barbara Andre from Morro Bay, California.

Her father, mother, and three brothers; Kenneth "Kenny" Ashby, Anthony "Tony" Ashby and Terry Ashby, all have preceded her in death.

Per the family's wishes, a gravesite memorial will be held on Saturday, January 9th at 11:00 am at Orrick Cemetery, Winchester, VA.
