Larry Grove Summers
On Thursday, August 7, 2014, the Lord called Larry Grove Summers home to begin his eternal life with him. Larry was born August 31, 1947 in Winchester VA to the Late Justice Washington Summers, Jr. and Flora Elizabeth Turner of Winchester, VA.
Larry was educated in Fauquier County and the City of Winchester, VA. He was a United States Veteran during the Vietnam Era serving in the 1st Battalion 7th Infantry in Europe. After working for many years, he retired from White house National Fruit.
He began his walk with Christ at the United Methodist Church in Upperville, VA as an altar boy with his brothers. Later he joined St. Paul AME Church where he was a member for more than 20 years serving under various ministries.
Larry was married to Rosalyn Carter, and of that union he leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Laricka (& Shawn) Polston of Winchester, VA; one sister, Joan (& Frederick)Jordan of Winchester, VA; one uncle Convil Summers of Front Royal, VA, two grandchildren Elijah M. Washington and Justin K. Washington both of Winchester, VA; four nieces Zimeka (& Antonio) Thornton, Shanti' Johnson, Ayesha Jordan, and Tabitha (& David) Hamilton; two nephews Justice (& Monique) Summers IV, Royal Theodore (& Jessie) Summers and a host of great nieces, cousins, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday August 13th 2014, at 11:00 am at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA with Pastor Kevin Wilson, pastor of St. Paul AME Church.
Family will receive friends Tuesday August 12th 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the church.
Interment with Military Honors afforded by the United States Army and the Winchester VFW Post # 2123 at Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA.
