Lena Virginia Rose

Lena Virginia Rose, 86, peacefully departed this life's journey on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA

She was the daughter of the late Leon Warren Boles and the late Mildred Preston Boles. After her mother's death, Lena was lovingly raised from the age of 5 by her maternal grandmother, the late Lillian Preston. She married Lester Rose on June 21, 1953.

Lena provided a loving home for Lester, Barbara and then Stacy, as well as the many children she loved that "became" hers. She was employed as a domestic caretaker for over 40 years. She was an active member of St. Paul AME Church for the last several years.

She leaves to mourn her cherished memory three daughters, Patsy Gaitor of Nassau, Bahamas, Barbara Cary, Stacy (Alonzo) Mason of Winchester, VA; thirteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one great granddaughter and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and lots of loving friends.

Preceding her in death are her four brothers Robert, Lewis, Charles Sr., and Leon.

A viewing will be held from 11am – 12 noon followed by the Home Going service at 12 noon at St. Paul AME Church, 428 N. Loudoun St., Winchester, VA with Rev. Kevin E. Wilson Officiating.
