Lenora Dean
Lenora Dean, 87, of Winchester, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 15th 2016 at a local nursing home in Winchester, VA.
She was born July 11, 1928 to the late Bennie Deans and Nora Cammon Deans of Portsmouth, VA., where she grew up, attended schools and became a member of Ebenezer
Baptist Church. She lived and worked in Portsmouth, VA, New York City, NY and Washington D.C.
While living and working in Washington D.C., she met and married Henry O'Neal Dean.
After the death of her husband Henry, she returned to Portsmouth, VA to take care of her mother and later her brother until their passing.
Lenora Dean lived in Portsmouth until her health declined and in 2002 she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Winchester, VA.
Surviving with her daughter Brenda Nelson (Ronald); two sons, Stephen Dean of Miami, FL. and Tyrone Dean (Angelica) of Tennille, GA; two sisters Bessie Colvin of Chesapeake, VA, and Marionette Dean of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren, Brian Nelson, Sonna Nelson and Jeramiah Robinson; two great-grandsons, Kadin and Quincy Nelson; great-granddaughter Arianna Profitt; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her parents, husband Henry O'Neal Dean and brother, Benjamin W. Dean.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA., on Saturday March 19th 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr.
Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.
Interment will be Tuesday March 22nd 2016 1:00 p.m. at Alexandria national Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia.
