Lucille Bland Moten

Lucille Bland Moten, age 82, went to heaven to be with God on March 14, 2014 at Blue Ridge Impatient Care Center of Winchester, VA.

Lucile Bland Moten was born on June 26, 1931 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Lillie Bland Travis. She received her education at Douglas School. She worked a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime but truly enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved to cook, bake cakes, read and shop. Lucille was a faithful member of the Jolly Poodle Club and Eastern Star~Apple Blossom Chapter #196 of Winchester, VA. She was a member of John Mann United Methodist Church of Winchester, VA.

Lucille was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her loving husband: Robert Moten, Sr.; three daughters: Patricia Bland, Sandra Holloman (Arthur) and Ellen Moten, all of Winchester, VA; two sons: Irvin Rowe and Robert Moten, Jr.; both of Winchester, VA; three sisters: Mary Butler, Priscilla Williams and Beatrice Cartwright (Allen), all of Winchester, VA; two brothers: John Travis of Winchester, VA and Roland Bland, Sr. of Ocala, Florida; a sister in-law: Marie Moten of Winchester, VA; a brother in-law, Abraham Moten of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren and eight grand-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Homegoing Service for Lucille Bland Moten will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, with a Viewing at 1100am and Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Wesley United Methodist Church, 527 Van Fossen Street, Winchester, VA 22601. The Reverend James Page, Jr. of John Mann United Methodist Church of Winchester, VA will be officiating.

Interment will be in Charles "Buster" Jackson Community Cemetery in White Post, VA.
