Lureathea May
Lureathea May, 86, of Winchester, VA, died Wednesday February 3, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. May was born July 11, 1923 in Wilson North Carolina the daughter of the late Charlie Walter Moore and Martha Roundtree Moore. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia. She served as a Deaconess, Usher and later one of the Mothers of the Church.
She was married to James Oscar May who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Ruby Doris Foreman, Patricia Ann Price and Sylvia Jean Miller all of Winchester, Virginia; four sons, Willie Albert Dixon of Wilson N.C., James May, Donnie May, and Thurman May all of Winchester, VA; four sisters, Sudie May, Ernestine Moore, Hazel Ruth, and Rosa Bee all of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Curtis Moore of Baltimore, MD; 40 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Joyce Marie May; four sons, Thomas Ray Dixon, Haywood Charles May, Ronnie May, and Gregory May; three sisters, Mildred Edwards, Louise Horne, and Janie Moore; and three brothers, Fisher Lee, George Moore and Charlie Walter Moore all preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am February 9, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.
Family will receive friends Tuesday February 9, 2010 one hour before service
at the church.
Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
