IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary "Maggie"
Agnes Lee
April 15, 2024
Mary "Maggie" Agnes Lee
Mary "Maggie" Agnes Lee, 70, of Winchester Virginia, passed away April 15, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.
She was a beloved friend and community member, known for her quick wit, love of animals and the ocean. Originally from Baltimore Maryland, Maggie embraced her chosen home of Winchester, working at the Winchester Star before becoming assistant manager at Sharp Shopper for the past several years until her retirement in December 2023. Maggie was active in her community as a member of NAACP and North End Citizens Association (NECA) among other organizations. She held the positions of Secretary, Vice President, and for the last several years, President of NECA. Through her leadership as NECA President, she tirelessly worked with other community organizations including the Douglass Alumni Association, Winchester City Council, and Winchester City school board members to improve and secure Douglass school building and history as an important symbol of the North End community. Through her volunteer work with Highland Food Pantry, NECA, Frederick Douglass Park Club Family Day, and Hop Blossom she demonstrated true commitment, dedication, and civic spirit to both her community and furry friends alike. In recognition for her service to our community, Maggie was a recipient of the Pillars of Love Award in 2019.
Maggie is survived by her brother, Richard Lee; sister, Joanne Lee; mother, Anne Lee; and countless friends. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Lee. Maggie leaves behind an indelible print on the many lives she impacted, and those of us who were so very fortunate to know her. She will be sadly missed.
