Mary Louise Banks
On Thursday, March 22, 2012, God opened the door to glory and called Mary Louise Banks home to begin her life of eternity with Him. Mary was born August 10, 1921 in Millwood, VA., to the late Mary Strange Banks and Boss Banks. She was the youngest of eight children.
Mary was educated in the public school of Winchester, VA. (Douglas High School). She worked at the George Washington Hotel for over twenty years, retiring early to care for her mother. She was dedicated her life as a caretaker and always took this responsibility diligently, in the service of Love.
She leaves to mourn one daughter, Carmen Crawford (Husband Ray), and son Larry Banks (Wife Claudia), 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Robert Banks, Sr., Author Banks, Sr., and Steven Banks; 5 sisters Della Butler, Betty Branch, Florence Bell, Bessie Jackson and Hester.
Mary was involved in numerous community and social organizations. She was a friend to all and was never short on conversation.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Winchester, VA with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.
Family will receive friends Tuesday March 27, 2012 one hour before service at the church.
Interment will be in Shenandoah memorial Park in Winchester, VA.
