Mary Novella Haymes Williams
On Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Norfolk, VA at Sentara Leigh Hospital, Mrs. Mary Novella Haynes Williams quietly departed this life.
Her life began in Halifax County, VA born to the late Walter and Callie Haynes. In 1959, she united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Herbert L. Williams, who she leaves to cherish their memories.
She moved to Danville, VA at an early age where she obtained her formal education within the Danville Public School system. Upon marriage to Mr. Williams she moved to Winchester, VA where she was an adulate child care provider. Mrs. Williams provided loving care for generations of children and their families throughout the Winchester community for many years.
She was a faithful member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she served as a Willing Worker and a devout member on several church committees.
She leaves to cherish her memories her one loving devoted daughter Cedonia Ann Carter (Louis) of Norfolk, VA, two sons; Samuel H. McClelland of Winchester, VA and Ernest McClelland of Hartford, CT.; Four granddaughters, Veronica Davis of Rochester, NY, Samantha McClelland of Woodbridge, VA, Keiara N. Carter and Kayla C. Carter of Norfolk, VA, two, great-grand children; Ibn McClelland of Woodbridge, VA and Kapre Carter of Norfolk, VA; one brother, Nathaniel B. Haymes (Bernice) OF Snellville, GA; one sister, Delores Woods of Newark, NJ; one aunt; Sally Howard of Newark, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Siblings preceding her in death: Thomas Haynes, Addie McClelland (twin sister) and Annie Spraggins.
A Celebration of Life will be 12:00 pm Wednesday April 14, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA., with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.
Family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:45 pm Wednesday April 14, 2010 at the church.
Interment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, VA.
