Michell LaShawn Gaskins

Michelle LaShawn Gaskins (Shawn) was born August 11, 1972. She departed this life on March 22, 2019 in Winchester, Virginia, surround by family and friends. LaShawn was born August 11, 1971 in Warrenton, VA., the daughter of Robert Amos Hill Sr. and Sheryl Carter.

Shawn gave her life to Christ at a young age. She loved the LORD and to Sing. She sang in the Church choir for many years. She was educated in the Loudoun County Pubic School system, where she excelled and studied Cosmetology. Shawn never let her challenge with blindness stop her. She enjoyed listening to her Book Reader for hours.

Shawn was preceded in death by her Parents Sheryl Carter and Robert Hill, Sr. and her Brother Paul Carter, Jr.

She leaves to mourn her Daughter's Nakea Carter, Amber Blackman and Cymone Gaskins; her Sisters Angela King, Rhonda Dorsey, Gloria Costa, Lisa Hill and Robin Hill; her Brothers Gerald Carter, Robert Hill Jr., and Corey Hill; three Grandchildren Rome and Rylan Johnson and Kaison Carter; Shawn was the Godmother to Taylah and Tylan Bailey and Tajah Lincoln. Shawn is survived by one Great-Aunt Flora Green. A host of relatives and friends. A Special Friend Anthony Robinson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Upperville, VA., with Rev. Phillip Lewis officiation.

Family will receive friend Saturday one hour before service at the church.

Inurnment will be later.
