Mother Lucy Payton Christian

Mother Lucy Payton Christian, 83 formally of Stephens City, VA, passed away Tuesday May 30, 2017 at Autumn Extended Care Facility in Coshocton, OH.

She was born January 20, 1934 in Rappahannock, VA, the daughter of the late George Payton and Sarah Davenport Roberts Payton. Later she moved to Coshocton, Ohio.
She was a dedicated and faithful member of The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob. She was also a member of Daughters of God and Bible School.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a kind and caring person, always had words of encouragement to give. She had an enormous amount of love for her family, easily seen when surrounded by grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was married to the late Deacon Richard Christian for 41 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory with her daughters, Senior Mother Gail Scott (David) of Coshocton, OH and Sheila Gaither Elliott (Larry) of Winchester, VA, along with 3 daughter in-laws, Pam Christian, Mable Christian, and Chun Christian, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving child of Sarah Roberts Payton

She was preceded in death by 14 siblings, James, David, Joe, Charles, Walter, Massie, Russell, Robert, Richard, Lee, all were Roberts, Ruth Payton Washington, Mabel Payton Williams, Loraine Payton Wedlock
and Walter Payton

Her late husband Deacon Richard Christian, her 4 sons Elder Kelvin Christian, Mr. Richard Christian, Brother Kim Christian, and Mr. Rodney Christian and 1 daughter Eldrs Sarah Christian Brooks also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 11 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob in Winchester VA.

Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.

Interment will be at Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA
