Otas Jackson Hubbard
Otas J. Hubbard, 81, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, peacefully at her Winchester home, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 9, 1933 in Winchester, VA to the late Rev. Thomas and Josephine Pinkett Jackson. Ms. Hubbard graduated from Johnson Williams in Berryville, VA and went on to complete courses at Strayer University in Washington, DC . She worked at Capitol Records as a machine operator and retired from K-Mart Corporation. She was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she worked effortlessly and diligently for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, all of Winchester, VA, Barbara Voner, Billie (Kevin) Russ, Kay Hubbard, and Tommie (Kim) Hubbard; two brothers Thomas H. Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA and Lloyd Jackson of Washington, DC, and four sisters, Lucille Johnson of Wenonah, NJ, Susie Day of White Post, VA, Irma Carey of Berryville, VA, and Barbara (Felix) Henderson of Sacramento, CA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Ronald M. Hubbard; two brothers, Elwood Carter Jackson and Oswald Jackson, and two sisters, Marie Jackson and Tacoma Payne.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00a.m. at Guildfield Baptist Church in Millwood, VA., with Pastor Raymond Morton officiating and Asst. Pastor Bobby Morgan, Eulogist.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in Charles "Buster" Jackson Cemetery in White Post, VA.
