IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul Wayne
Walker
August 19, 1951 – August 4, 2022
Paul Wayne Walker
Paul Wayne Walker, 70 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, surrounded by family at Winchester Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. Paul was born on August 19, 1951, in Kings Daughter Hospital, Martinsburg, WV to the late Calvin Walker and Helen Green Walker. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Walker.
Paul attended Ramer Memorial Elementary, North Jr. High, and graduated from Martinsburg High School where he was a member of the wrestling team.
Paul was employed by General Motors Parts Plant for 33 years, and during that time, he was drafted into the United States Navy. After serving his time in the Navy, he returned to work and retired in 2004 to enjoy a life of leisure at home.
Paul loved to read, play his guitar, and watch westerns where he loved to point out how they never reloaded the old six shooter guns they used. He became quite the socialite in his later years. With a hat on and a toothpick in his mouth, he held his spot at his favorite local restaurants and bars with his posse and his fellow members of The Gentlemen's Brunch organization. His days were spent relaxing, and as he would say, doing whatever he pleased. Often that meant hanging with his grandson and shotgun rider William-aka Willis.
Paul was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor Edward Hall, Martinsburg, WV.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory his children: daughter Marisha Walker-Clark (Zeb) of Virginia Beach; sons Paul Travis Walker and Jermaine Wesley Walker of Winchester, VA; stepsons: William Beamer III, Winchester, VA, and Kelen Conley(Angel) of Morgantown, WV; siblings: Sharon Brown, Waldorf, MD, Richard Walker (Sandra) Bunker Hill, WV, Renita Walker, Harrisburg, PA, and cousin/sister Vickie Green, Martinsburg, WV; six grandchildren: Z. Xavier Clark, William Beamer, Zarriah Gabrielle Clark, Aaliyah Danielle Conley, Damerius Spaid, and Dajhona Spaid; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends throughout the area, Paul was a kind and gentle soul.
Service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 1317 S Pleasant Valley Road, Winchester, VA., with Rev. James Paige officiating.
Family will receive friends at 11:00 am at the church.
Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, VA., with Military Honors Afforded by the United States Navy and the Winchester VFW Post #2123.
We will be following CDC guidelines for Covid. Mask must be worn.
