Phyllis Marie Burns

Phyllis Marie Burns, 64, of Winchester, VA., passed away April 11, 2019 at her home in Winchester, VA.

Phyllis was born on June 18, 1954 in Winchester, VA., to the late Julian Burns and Virginia Ann Burns.

Phyllis leaves to cherish two brothers, David Burns of Tampa, Florida and Philip Burns of Winchester, VA.; three sisters, Maggie Grimes of Cleveland, Ohio, Claudia Turner and Joann Powell both of Winchester, VA.

She was preceded in death by a sister Mary Margaret Shields, a niece Capria Turner whom she raised as her daughter. She also raised Capria's four children Ayanna Turner, Tajhay Turner, Hassan Akanbi, and JaQuae Akanbi all of Winchester, VA.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 am April 20, 2019 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 1317 S. Pleasant Valley Road in Winchester, VA. with Rev. Dr. Gilbert M. Mack,Jr.
Officiating.

Inurnment will be private.
