Porshia Marie Williams

Porshia Marie Williams, beloved mother, daughter, and sister passed away on December 27, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia.

Porshia was born on January 18, 1991, in Winchester, Virginia to Rozland Williams Best and Glenn Polston. She graduated from Handley High School, Class of 2009.

Porshia leaves behind her cherished son, Gavin Williams; her loving parents, Rozland Williams Best and Glenn (Wendy) Polston; her siblings, Sherita Polston, Terrence Williams, Nikia Best, Jasmine Bailey, Lauren Robertson, and Josiah Thomas; and her nieces and nephews, Sanai, Kellan, Caleb, Bailey and Sloane; whom she adored deeply. Porshia is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her presence brought warmth, humor, and connection to her family.

Porshia is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Doris and Jimmy Williams; her paternal grandparents, Katherine Ann and Edward "Pinky" Polston; her stepfather, Nigel Best; and her nephew, Demetrius Polston, all of whom she is now reunited with.

Porshia will be remembered most for her contagious laughter and for the way it filled every room she entered. Her joy was a gift she shared freely with everyone around her.

Above all else, Porshia loved her son Gavin. He was her pride, her heart, and her greatest accomplishment. Everything she did was guided by her love for him, and that love will continue to live on through him.

Though Porshia's time with us was too short, the memories she created—the laughter, the love, and the moments of closeness—will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Porshia will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive family and friends on 6 to 8 pm on January 9, 2026, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Winchester, Virginia with the Rev. Dr. Gilbert M. Mack Jr., officiating.

Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Stephens City, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Jerome Polston Jr., Jay'lin Polston, Jordan Polston, Joel Williams, Quintin Smith and Mike Rowe.
