IN MEMORIAM

Portland Jeanne Cunningham

With heartfelt love and cherished remembrance, we celebrate the beautiful life of Portland “Patsy” Cunningham, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, caregiver, and dear friend. Portland was the beautiful daughter of the late Norris and Helena Smith, and she lived a life filled with faith, love, service, laughter, and devotion to family.

Portland was a devoted believer and follower of Christ. Her faith guided her heart, her compassion for others, and the love she freely shared throughout her life. Portland was preceded in death by her late husbands, William Cunningham and William Worsley. Each union was a meaningful chapter in her life, bringing love, family, and treasured memories that helped shape the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

In addition, her beloved son, William, affectionately known as Willie, her parents; Norris and Helena Smith; and several dear siblings.

A devoted mother, Portland shared a deep and everlasting bond with her children. Her love for her late son Willie remained sacred and enduring, and her family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited in eternal peace.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children, Kenya, Mischel, and Mikhael; her granddaughter, Sha’nay; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her loving siblings; extended family; and many dear friends.

Portland had a beautiful gift for caring for others. She served faithfully as a senior caregiver, loving her patients with tenderness, patience, and compassion. Her spirit of service was also reflected through her career with the Red Cross, as well as her meaningful careers as a Cemetery Caretaker Supervisor and Grounds Supervisor, where she demonstrated dedication, leadership, and respect for the dignity of others.

That same caring spirit flowed deeply into her family. Whenever a loved one needed her, Portland did not hesitate, she would pack her suitcase and go, ready to stay, nurture, comfort, and help in any way she could. Her presence brought peace, strength, and reassurance to those around her.

Portland was full of joy and personality. She loved to laugh, dance, sing, and create lasting memories with those she loved. She especially enjoyed hosting sleepovers with her daughters and nieces, filling the room with laughter, music, stories, and warmth.

She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Portland loved her garden and took pride in watching things grow, just as she nurtured the people around her. She also enjoyed watching Asian television shows for the enjoyable entertainment they brought into her home.

Portland’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and service in action. She gave freely, cared deeply, laughed joyfully, served faithfully, and loved without hesitation. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Her love remains. Her laughter echoes. Her memory lives forever.

The family wishes to express our gratitude.
