Richard Franklin Curry, Sr.
Richard F. Curry, Sr., 70, of Winchester, Virginia died Tuesday April 7, 2009
at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Curry was born April 25, 1938 in Winchester, Virginia. He was the son of the late George W. Curry, Sr., and Dorothy Turner Curry. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia. He was a member of the Men's Choir, Men's Ministry and served on the Usher Board. He also was a United States Air force Veteran.
He leave to cherish his memory; two daughters, Shirley ( Cheryl) Nelson of Pennsylvania, and Edith Curry of Maryland; six sons, Anthony Curry of Virginia, Richard (Ricky) Curry of Maryland, Franklin (Nate) Humbert of Michigan, Vernon Payne, Rodney Payne, Malcolm Payne all of Virginia,; two sisters, Helen Ford of Winchester, Virginia and Dorothy Finley of Maryland; four brothers, George Curry, Charles (Bobby) Curry, and Lawrence Curry all of Winchester, Virginia and Clarence Curry of West Virginia; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; two uncles, Jesse Curry of Stephens City, Virginia and James Ogden of Ohio; and one aunt, Betty Fields of Ohio.
One grandson, Joshua Nelson preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday April 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.
Family will received friends 6-7:00 pm Friday April 10, 2009 at the church.
Pallbearers will be the Nephews.
Interment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, Virginia with Military Honors afforded by Winchester VFW Post # 2123.
