Senior Deacon Robert Leroy Brisco

Robert L. Brisco, 80, of Winchester, Virginia died Monday May 26, 2008 at his home in Winchester, Virginia.

Deacon Brisco was born October 7, 1927 in Amissville, Virginia the son of the late Leroy Brisco and Bertha Carey Brisco. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia. He was Senior Deacon, member of the Male Choir, and Senior Choir. He was a member of Daniel J. Farrar Lodge # 458 of the Elks where he served as trustee, house chairman, Esquire and chaplain. He was also a member of the James R. Turner Civil Liberty League # 267. He was a United State Army veteran.

Surviving with his companion, Dorothy Randolph of Winchester are four sons, John Brisco and Merwyn Brisco Sr. both of Stephens City, Virginia, William Brisco of Waldorf, MD. and Keith Brisco of Kaiser, WV; four daughters, Wanda Brisco Washington of Stephens City, Rosiland Hayes, and Willa Mae Banks both of Winchester, Virginia, and Donna Brisco of Waldorf, MD; two sisters, Louvenia Ross of Middletown, Virginia and Julia Smith of Berryville, Virginia; one brother of Sylvester Brisco of Berryville, Virginia; 14 grand children and 16 great-grandchildren.

One brother, William Brisco preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am on Saturday May 31, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr.

Family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the church.
Friends may call Friday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Charles "Buster" Jackson Community Cemetery in White Post, Virginia with Military Honors provided by the Winchester VFW Post 2123.

Pallbearers will be Jerome Hayes, Robbie Brisco, Merwyn Brisco, Jr. , Maximilian Brisco, Markeith Brisco and Derrick Harper.
