Obituary
Robert Ray Kennedy, Sr., of Bluemont, VA passed away on Monday May 2nd
2016 at his home in Bluemont, VA.
He was born June 24, 1937 in Charleston, WV, the son of the late Gordon Kennedy and Ruth Turley Kennedy. He was a United States Marine Veteran.
He was married to Sharon Kay Burkhammer Kennedy.
Surviving with his wife; a daughter, Melissa Kennedy of Richmond, VA,; a son, James Scott Kennedy of Charleston, WV; four sisters, Bonnie Suppa, Joy Fisher, and Betty Westfall all of WV, Myrna Davis of Texas; a brother, Ronnie Kennedy of WV; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He also leaves his Puppy, Abby Kennedy.
Preceding him in death was a son, Robert Ray Kennedy, Jr,; a daughter Myrna Lou Kennedy Sherrouse; a sister, Jane Dew and a grandson, Rustic Ray Kennedy.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday May 7, 2016 at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, VA.
Military Honors will be afforded by the United States Marines and the Clarke County VFW Post 9760.
Inurnment will be a later date.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Burial Fund for Robert Ray Kennedy c/o Cartwright Funeral Home, 232 E Fairfax Lane in Winchester, VA 22601.
