Rodney Eugene Gillison

Rodney Eugene Gillison, 48, of Upper Marlboro, MD., formerly of Berryville, Virginia died Sunday August 17, 2008 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Md.

Mr. Gillison was born in Winchester, Virginia on June 13, 1960 the son of the late Robert Carroll Gillison, Sr., and Lavinia Tate Gillison He was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia. Rodney was a gifted musician who loved the Lord and played for several area churches.

He is survived by his companion, Cynthia Newman of Upper Marlboro, MD.; a son; Donta Omar Underwood of Leesburg, Virginia; a daughter, Joy Jeanette Romaine of Kearneysville, WV. one sister, Mary L. Gillison of Berryville, Virginia; three brothers, Robert C. Gillison, Jr., of King George, Virginia James Arthur Gillison of Centerville, Virginia, and Frank Ellis Paige of Berryville, Virginia; and one granddaughter, Julia Romaine of Kearneysville, WV.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday August 23, 2008 at 11:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church at 110 N. Church Street in Berryville, Virginia with Minister Mark Clarke officiating.

Family will receive friends Friday 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm August 22, 2008 at Zion Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia.

Interment will be Milton Valley Cemetery in Berryville, Virginia.
